Crepe fabric is a type of primarily silk cloth featuring a strong twisting or special interlacing of threads. The most popular types are crepe de chine, crepe chiffon, crepe georgette and crepe sateen.
Twisted in the right and left direction, the crepe-woven threads are arranged in a certain order. Such technology allows for a higher thread resilience and causes a higher fabric shrinkage, resulting in a shallow and shady effect. Non-wrikling and perfectly drapable, crepe fabrics are mostly applied for women’s dresses and suits.
