Cotton Lawn

This extraordinary dark blue cotton features a merry floral motif in red and orange. The print was sourced from a 1950's screen-printed scarf design taken from Liberty’s Merton printworks. Small scarlet and tangerine roses are set out in semicircles. Comfy, durable and bright, the fabric is also hypoallergenic due to the skin-friendly production technique. British manufacturer Liberty uses tana lawn cotton with high thread count which is especially light and airy. Cotton Lawn Fabric

Cotton lawn is a fine cotton cloth in a plain weave. It is lightweight, soft and ultra smooth. Lawn is firmer than batiste, but not as crisp as organdy. It has a high thread count and tends to be slightly sheer, especially in lighter colors. The name of the fabric comes from Laon, a city in France where it was first produced. Cotton lawn can be solid colored or printed. It works best in blouses, dresses, pinafores and tops perfect for spring and summer.
