It has a high thread count and tends to be slightly sheer, especially in lighter colors. The name of the fabric comes from Laon, a city in France where it was first produced. Cotton lawn can be solid colored or printed. It works best in blouses, dresses, pinafores and tops perfect for spring and summer.
